Beach Trip...gone bad!

For those of you that don't know, Casey got a new job. He was scheduled to start this past Monday and we thought it would be fun to take a trip to the beach before he started. We decided that since the condo wouldn't be available until the afternoon, we would head to the aquarium for the morning and from there we would drive to Topsail. We arrived in the afternoon and after picking up some groceries we headed up to the room. We were surprised to open the door to find that someone was still there. We had most of our bags, groceries (including frozen food), and both Gavin and Emerson. We just looked at each other because we knew this was going to get interesting. We carried everything back down to the car and went to the front office to figure out why the person hadn't checked out. They explained that they technically had until the next morning, which we were obviously unaware of. They were nice enough to comp another room, but it would be in another building. They told us we would have to move to another condo the next day. Not our idea of fun! We stayed the night...Eme slept with me in the bed, Gavin slept in the living room, and Casey slept on the couch. Eme woke up at midnight asking for ice cream and wanting to watch tv. I was up with her until 2am. I switched spots with Casey and was then up again at 4am with Gavin! We were up until 5:30. Not enough sleep for any of us!! We ended up going out to the beach the next day and then we decided to just head home. We didn't want to chance the kids not napping at the condo so we packed up and drove home. We also didn't want to pack our things to move to another condo, for just one more night. We had a great time at the aquarium and out on the beach...the beach house situation could have been better! Oh well, what can you do?!?!
