Emerson returned this season with the same group of girls. Last year they were the Blue Butterflies. This year they were the Purple Tigers. It has been amazing to watch this group of girls transform over time. This was the first season where a goalie was used. Most girls thought they wanted to try goalie out, until they realized it was often times pretty boring. Emerson is not a fan. She would much rather play offense. Eme is fast. Those long legs move. She had several attempts at a goal throughout the season and when she did, it was pretty nice. She's a lefty. She has worked really hard at using her right foot every once in a while and also shooting a ball on the move. The team is starting to grasp the idea of passing and moving to receive a pass. A lot less bunch ball is happening and more deliberate moving and passing has started to take place. The coaches have been amazing. They work really hard to assure the girls are learning the game and having fun. We are really looking forward to next season. She's loving it. Mama is too.
