School was canceled on a Friday, due to Hurricane Florence, and we decided to take advantage of the kids already being out of school. Some of us are not big fans of the state fair, but sometimes we do things we don't necessarily want to. The weather was perfect. We walked around, ate some yummy food, rode a few rides and played some games. Gavin is the guy that saves his money. He has the hardest time spending it. That is, until we get to the fair and his competitive nature takes over. That boy would have spent all of his money on fair games if we let him. It's so hard. We want them to have a good time, but we also want to teach them the value of a dollar. I'm pretty sure there are parents out there that are way more "fun" than we are. :) We just hope that they are actually learning from what we teach them. Oh, and mommy doesn't do rides. Like, at all. Never again. No thank you. I'll pass.
