This Girl

This sweet girl will be 3 in February. Wow! Where did my baby go?!? I look at Emerson, just on any old day, and think to myself, "wow, that's my baby...looking all grown up". Emerson has long brown hair, that she doesn't really want anything done to. If it were up to her, she would leave it down/with no ponytail, every day. We are still putting her in a diaper at nap and nighttime. She often wakes up with a dry diaper, which we make a huge deal out of. She is doing great in the potty department. My girl is super sweet most of the time. Some days, however, she likes to push every button she can. She has picked up a few negative things from preschool, I'm afraid. All of a sudden she wants her "blankie". We never had a "blankie" before school. There is a little boy who gets dropped off and is always in tears. The teacher gives him a "blankie" to calm him down. Nice. Now we have a "blankie" too. Eme often has selective hearing, which I'm told is the age. Kindof annoying to have to repeat yourself over, and over, and over again. We have had to resort to time out in her room. It seems to have more of an impact than the 'ole stoop. We are also learning that being nice to our brother is a good thing. It's funny, most times she is a little mama to Gavin. Other times, she is pinching and pushing the poor guy. What she doesn't know is Gavin will one day be bigger than her. She better watch out! Eme loves to swing outside, play with her brother's trucks, and loves to be read to. She's a "big girl" and tries to do most things on her own. She dreams about "little mermaids under the sea" most nights and loves to sing songs she has learned in school, before she goes to sleep. This girl is changing every day. I am so lucky to have her in my life.
