Preschool 2013

This year of preschool, Emerson and Gavin will be going three mornings a week.  Emerson is in Mrs.Walker and Mrs. Taylor's class.  Gavin is in Mrs. Joyner and Mrs. Sawyer's class.  These pictures were taken a few days after the start of school (way to go mommy).  Gavin insisted to have Monk-Monk in the pictures with him.  It is crazy to look back at the pictures taken at the start of preschool last year.  Such a huge difference in both kids.  To think, Eme will be off to kindergarten next year.  I'm totally not prepared.

Eme seems to be doing well in school so far.  The hardest part is drop off.  She likes to put on a show and cling to me for dear life.  We have read lots of books to help with the transition.  Hopefully, with time, it will get easier.  She is learning so many new things.  She comes home with new words she has learned in Spanish, new songs to sing, and she talks about all of her new/old friends.  Noah, seems to be a name we hear often.  Noah's mom says he loves Eme!  They are too cute.

So, to my surprise, Gavin had a hard time with the transition back to school.  He was my child last year that wouldn't even turn around to say bye.  This year has been somewhat different.  He had crocodile tears on several occasions as I dropped him off in his classroom.  The teacher had to basically just take him from me.  Talk about breaking your heart.  He also had an issue with going to the potty at school.  He just refused to potty.  One day, after holding it for so long, he basically let loose.  His shoes were even soaking wet.  Poor guy.  I think we have that issue under control now.  We make sure to potty right before he goes into his classroom.  He is becoming more comfortable with his teachers and drop off has become much easier.  Gav often talks about Liza and some of his buddies from his class last year.  The teacher say how helpful Gavin is with the "younger" kids.
