Christmas 2013

Jack, our elf, was kind enough to write Emerson and Gavin a letter this year.  He told them that they were lucky enough to celebrate Christmas a day early.  Jack told them that Santa makes special trips for kids who have parents that work on Christmas day.  Now that was pretty nice of Jack, don't you agree?!  The kids were so excited.  The night before, we got home from a party, and headed out to sprinkle the reindeer food that Gavin made at school.  He was so proud of his reindeer food!  The kids headed inside (it was pretty late), set out cookies for Santa, and got dressed in their jammies.  We read a story about the birth of baby Jesus and then tucked them into bed.

"Christmas morning" Nana woke us up with a call to say she was on her way.  Yes, she called before my kids were awake.  We heard Eme wake up first.  Casey went to wake Gavin up before she came downstairs.  What he found was not what he was expecting.  He yelled for me.  Gavin was laying in a huge pile of puke...asleep!  I have no idea when he threw up, but boy did he.  All that junk that he kept sneaking at the party was a bit too much for his tummy.  As Casey ran bath water, I carried him in to get cleaned off.  Casey was retching...Eme was retching...I was cleaning.  My mom came up to occupy Eme and Casey was given the duty of trying not to puke.  After Gavin was all cleaned up, we all headed down to see what Santa left them.

The only thing Gavin asked Santa for was a Lego Jake pirate ship.

Eme asked Santa for a stroller with a shade. ;)

I'm guessing Gavin had a bad taste in his mouth...or he's just plain crazy.  He shoved the leftover cookie from Santa in his mouth before we could even tell him no.  He was fine the rest of the day.
