Summer Fun

This summer has been fun so far!  We have spent lots of time outside, imagine that!  We recently bought a tube for the boat.  The kids love it.  Gavin calls it a canoe.  We have definitely taken advantage of the pool.  Most days, I work out in the morning and then we head to the pool for a few hours.  The kids are getting more comfortable in the water and are swimming really well.  Emerson wants to go outside first thing in the morning...every morning.  We spend most days outside. It has been hot lately so we try to spend them in the water!

When it's just too hot to be outside, or we've had too much sun, you can find us inside doing some sort of art project.  Gavin, my child who couldn't sit still to color two months ago, now asks to create some sort of picture.  He wants to use his "imagination" on a regular basis.  The progression from scribbling to actually staying in the lines amazes me.  I never thought he would be able to sit for an extended amount of time!  He loves to draw swimming pools and lakes.  An occasional house and tree.  His imagination is in overdrive these days.  So cute to see.

We just got back from my step-sister's wedding.  My mom did an amazing job with the decorations and it was nice to get out of Raleigh for the weekend.  If only my children would learn to love a short car ride.  Asking too much?  Maybe.  They did much better on the way home than they did on the way there.  Maybe pure exhaustion.  The rain held out for the most part.  A quick shower and then it stopped.  It was hot though.  Super duper hot.  We had a good time.  Oh, and we got to see Uncle Josh!  Josh and Gosha were able to make it.  The kids loved that!

Gavin must have had weddings on his mind.  This sweet boy asked me to marry him while sitting at the dinner table Sunday night.  Um, how could I resist?!  This picture shows a bit of his sweet side.  Notice Monk-Monk wrapped up in his blankie laying next to him?  That's my boy.  Ooh, I can't get enough of that boy.  I hope he is always this sweet!
