Surprise Flight

These are COMPLETELY CLUELESS KIDS.  We drove to the airport, in our rental car, after our trip was over.  The kids had no idea we would be flying home.  They haven't flown before and have been asking to fly for a while now.  We dropped our rental car off and went straight into the airport.  They thought we were picking up our car.  We asked them, at one point, where they thought we were.  One said the mall.  It finally took us telling them, while we were standing in the security line.  They weren't buying it.  We had to convince them that we were not driving home.  Thank God.
We would be flying...direct.  Hallelujah.

CLUELESS.

The pilots and flight attendants were so kind.  They invited Emerson (and Gavin) up to the cock pit.  Gavin was a bit timid and decided against it.  Emerson, on the other hand, made herself comfortable.  The pilot had her hitting switch after switch.  She thought she was hot stuff.

They both did incredibly well during the flight.  Gavin was funny.  When the plane was quiet and in the middle of take off, he yelled, "blast off".  Made us laugh.  Emerson made a friend on the short flight.  An elementary school librarian.  The woman was special.  She played games with Emerson for a good 30 minutes.  Helped pass the time and Gavin even joined in at the end.

We had a fun trip and hope to travel more in the future.
