Kauai

President's Club for RedHat was in Kauai this year. We are super proud of the hard work that Casey puts into his job on a daily basis. He was rewarded with this amazing trip and I was fortunate enough to go with him. Big thanks to the grandparents for all of their help while we were gone. We know it was probably not the easiest, but we truly appreciate your help. The original trip was supposed to be from a Thursday-Monday, but we decided to extend a bit. We ended up going from Tuesday-Tuesday, including travel days. Best possible decision. The time difference between Raleigh and Kauai is 6 hours. It takes a couple days to adjust and actually feel normal...both getting there and back.

The first two days Casey and I did a lot of exploring. We rented a car and drove up and down the island. We stopped at a cute little place for lunch when we got there. It was called Lava Lava and we were able to eat with our toes in the sand while enjoying the beautiful view. After exploring for a few days we were ready to relax by the pool. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and it was beautiful. Thursday was the day that RedHat employees arrived. They had a welcome reception with food and drinks and it was so nice to finally put a face to a name with many of Casey's coworkers. Friday they had a meeting planned for the employees and the guests were able to learn a traditional Hawaiian dance. So fun! At some point Thursday or Friday, Casey and I went snorkeling at Poipu beach. The fish were so beautiful and we even saw a sea turtle hanging out on the sand. Saturday was the day of our dune buggy excursion and the formal award ceremony. I honestly wasn't sure if I would ever get all the mud off of me for the dinner. Sunday, I believe, was the day a group of us went for a roughly 10 mile bike ride along the coast. We had a great time, stopping for lunch and drinks along the way. All in all, the trip was fantastic. We had the best time and have so many fun memories. More pics to come!
