Only in North Carolina do you carve pumpkins in shorts and a t-shirt....or sports bra for that matter. This was the first time that my kids carved pumpkins mostly by themselves. They chose their design, they scooped the insides and they carved the design. Gavin needed just a little bit of help after he decided to slice his finger. He was fine, but wasn't real confident about his abilities after. They both turned out great and they were very proud of themselves. I was also very proud of Nurse Eme, who took great care of her brother after he cut his finger. She bandaged him up like a pro.
