Christmas Morning

We decided to switch things up a bit this year and head to Florida to spend Christmas with Zach and his family. We were initially going to fly (really would have loved that), but ended up driving. We left on the Friday before Christmas....along with everyone else! Our original idea was to drive the couple hours to Savannah, eat dinner somewhere on River Street and then stay the night in a hotel. We would then get up the next morning and finish the drive to Florida. Well, things didn't work out exactly as planned. Since we were driving, along with everyone and their mom, we didn't make it to Savannah until after 10pm. We ended up having breakfast on River Street instead. After breakfast, we hopped in the car and continued our trip. We finally made it to Zach's that afternoon.

It was interesting doing Christmas morning somewhere else. My kids were really hoping Santa would know that they were in Florida and not in Raleigh. Santa did not disappoint. He came through for everyone. The kids had such a good time opening presents along side their cousins. Mattie wasn't a fan and seemed to want to go back to bed. ;) Toys were everywhere and the kids had a great day. Unfortunately, Bridget couldn't join us during the day because Christmas Day happens to be one of the busiest for her at work. Emerson stepped in and took her "mama" spot for Mattie. As if you were surprised! Everyone seemed to be a little under the weather, which made things difficult at times, but we all made the best of it. It was so nice to be able to spend time with Zach and his family.

Nana bought all the kids matching jammies.

Mattie not feeling it. ;) To say the least.

Opening presents.

Nana with the kids...Mattie still not feeling it. ;)

Mama Eme. Mattie loved her some Eme.
