This sweet boy turned 9 on a Sunday. The Friday before I surprised him at school with sushi for lunch. I try to make it a point to celebrate their birthdays with them at school and at home. It's so fun to see their interactions with other kids and their friendships that have formed.
So, the morning of Gavin's actual birthday we had a major problem. I woke up and went to put water in Hurley's bowl and nothing came out of the faucet. Nothing. We were getting ready to have roughly 10 kids at our house for a WATER PARTY. Um, what in the world were we going to do now. As Casey tried to work on the water issue, I was scurrying around trying to come up with plan B. John & Deb live in Wildwood and it was actually the kids who came up with the idea to have the party at the Wildwood Pool. After talking to Deb, that's what we decided to do. I sent a quick text that morning letting everyone know what was going on and we quickly made preparations to take everything to the pool. It wasn't the original plan, but I'd say it all worked out perfectly. Gavin's friends showed up, they swam, played some games, ate, opened presents and swam some more. Everyone had a great time and the birthday party was a success. It still wasn't clear at this point if a new well would need to be drilled or a new pump needed to be replaced....but we had a happy 9 year old on his birthday.
