After battling asthma for a few years now, we decided it was time for another round of allergy testing. Emerson had allergy testing when she was a toddler, but we have since dealt with a few more suspected allergies. Going into the appointment, Eme was super anxious and the actual process was very emotional for her. She was not comfortable at all and it was way more extensive than the first round of testing. After waiting 15 minutes for the results, it was determined that she had multiple allergies to note. Her poor little back was lit up with bumps and all the red is where she tested allergic. We now know she has an allergy to grass, trees, mold, dust mites, and a few others. They tested her for dairy and almonds also. She tested allergic to almonds. The doctor said she may just have a sensitivity to the lactose found in dairy. He also said that it is very common for those with an allergy to almonds to also have an allergy to hazelnuts. She will now be avoiding almonds and hazelnuts (no Nutella). Her doctor has recommended allergy shots and I'm afraid that may take a few more discussions to get her on board. It's nice to finally know, instead of just guessing.
This was the beginning of the testing.
This was after 15 minutes.
