Emerson's Class Plays

The class plays, put on by the students at the end of the year, were by far one of my favorite things that Emerson has done.  The 1st grade school year was crazy with the changing of teachers, but I do have to say, the last teacher that filled in was amazing.  She was one of the teachers at Sycamore that pulled students out into groups and worked on reading and she also came into the class and worked with the class as a whole.  She has been working with the students on a few short stories and the kids were working in small groups to act out the stories together.  The decision was made to put on the short plays for the parents and the students were so excited.  I honestly have never seen or heard Emerson so excited about something related to school like she was about these plays!  Her group was assigned the story of Pinocchio and she was given the role of Pinocchio himself.  All she talked about was the set that they had designed and the costume that she would create.  I loved seeing her so excited.  The plays were so good!  They had a narrator and then a few kids who acted out the story.

All the fabulous actors!

And crazy!
